The Black Boulder Mesa, originating in 1996 as a low density residential community, encompasses nearly one thousand acres. Striving for a preservation ethic, the Mesa utilizes low density siting, CC&Rs, architectural guidelines, conservation easements and other planning tools to mitigate the impacts of residential development, while maximizing the owner's privacy, views and values.

We are surrounded by public lands. The Mesa shares a common boundary with National Forest on the north, while the new 1.8 million acre National Monument literally embraces the Mesa and town on the east, south and west. The Monument's vast, roadless areas provide a lasting reserve for the high desert flora and fauna (including the adventurous hiker).<BR>

At the risk of sounding excessively ardent, the Mesa views are so stunning, the air is so clear and quiet, that while standing on the east rim and contemplating the eighty mile panorama toward Navajo Mountain and the Henrys, someone once asked, "Is it really legal to own this?"<BR>R>
